I met the Dilated crew back in the day when they played at a small venue in MA. It was post Neighborhood Watch and Evidence had a mean cold. We were waiting in line and saw a bewildered familiar face on the street looking for something: green tea. He wanted to soothe a sore throat.
As the night unfolded with Blackalicious, Dilated and then Public Enemy, we found ourselves onstage and then in back of it. One of the best hip hop nights of my life. These guys are some real down-to-earth poets who know how to reach us.
